Beskrivning

Abandoned at the end of the 14th century by the Kings of France, the Palais de la Cité consisted of the Conciergerie, Palais de Justice and the Sainte Chapelle.

The Conciergerie took on a judicial role after the Kings left and part of the palace was converted into prison cells where hundreds of prisoners during the French Revolution were emprisoned before getting guillotined. Its most famous prisoner was Marie-Antoinette.

Along with the Conciergerie, the Sainte Chapelle is one of the earliest surviving buildings of the Capetian royal palace on the Île de la Cité and is considered among the highest achievements of the Rayonnant period of Gothic architecture.

  • Free admission for all visitors on the first Sunday of each month from November to March and on the European Heritage Days (the third weekend of September)
  • Both monuments are closed on 1st May and 25th December. The Sainte Chapelle is also closed on 1st January

    Skip the line tickets betekenden toch nog een wachttijd van een uur. De line-indicatie was onduidelijk> Er was spraken van 3 lines: zonder ticket, tickets op het hele uur en tickets op het halve uur. Verder was de route tussen de Chapelle en de Conciërgerie uitermate onduidelijk!

    Le problème réside dans le fait que les entrées de la Ste Chapelle soit couplée avec le Tribunal de Grande Instance. Un contrôle (fait particulièrement par un préposé qui devrait aller suivre des cours de politesse et d'amabilité) des plus complets, portique, passage de tout ce que vous portez sur plateau etc... Ca se comprend pour le tribunal, mais pas pour la Ste Chapelle. A part ce désagrément, tout va bien et c'est magnifique et ça vaut le déplacement.

    Voor een en priority ticket betasl je €20 ipv €14, maar je moet gewoon in de ellenlange rij gaan staan. Dus absoluut geen priorrity, maar geld uit de ********** klopperij.

    Esperienza molto positiva, siamo stati benissimo, appartamento munito di tutto i confort, molto pulito e posizionato in un posto silenzioso ed è stato molto facile raggiungere tutte le mete turistiche in metro, in quanto vicinissima al l'appartamento. Inoltre l'appartamento si trova su una via pedonale vicinissima alla cattedrale Saint-denis e tanti negozi di cui anche la Carrefour proprietario molto gentile e disponibile per qualsiasi chiarimento grazie Fabio siamo stati benissimo
