Niagarafallen, en av världens mest populära turistattraktioner, är en av världens sju naturliga underverk. Den består av tre vattenfall: Horseshoe Falls (eller Canadian Falls) är den största, följt av American Falls och slutligen Bridal Veil Falls. Beläget vid gränsen till USA och Kanada, lockar Niagara Falls cirka 30 miljoner besökare årligen och har en historia som går 12 000 år tillbaka.
Det finns många båtutflykter och sightseeingturer som du kan göra när du besöker Niagarafallen. De äldsta och mest kända attraktionerna är båtkryssningar som tar dig in i forsarna i floden Niagara precis framför fallen. The Maid of The Mist erbjuds från den amerikanska sidan och Hornblower-kryssningar från kanadensiska sidan. Se till att ta med en extra byte av kläder eftersom du garanterat kommer bli blöt!
Om du vill göra något mer avkopplande kan du besöka Skylon Tower och gå upp till observationsdäcket. Detta gör att du kan få den högsta utsikten över fallen och att se Toronto i motsatt riktning. Annars kan du vandra på en av spåren i Niagarafallens statspark, den äldsta statsparken i USA, och komma upp nära fallen.
Det blev populärt under 1900-talet för äventyrare att gå över Niagarafallen i en tunna. Den första var Annie Edson Taylor 1901, förseglad i en trätunna pumpad full av luft. Hon överlevde. Engelsmannen Charles Stephens hade mindre tur 1920. Han band sin arm mot ett städ inne i tunnan för extra säkerhet. Efter hans fall hittade de armen, pipan och städet - men inte resten av Charles.
Inom gångavstånd till vattenfallen på kanadasidan hittar du en gata full av restauranger, presentbutiker och andra attraktioner som är värda att besöka under ditt besök. Om du brukar ha turen på din sida, gå till ett av de två kasinon i närheten och prova lyckan där!
