Kom och se exceptionella dansare och artister! I New York City finns det inget bättre ställe att hitta nya musikaler, restauranger och butiker än i Big Apples teaterdistrikt. Beläget längs Broadway har området spektakulära folkmassor och livlig underhållning som består av över 40 teatrar och musikplatser, skivbolag och tv -studior.
Scenkonstkulturen blev berömd i New York 1750 när Thomas Kean och Walter Murray öppnade en teater på Nassau Street. De första showerna som introducerades för New Yorkers var Shakespearian -pjäser och operor. Det var inte förrän i början av 1900 -talet som teatrar började byggas på Times Square.
Idag ligger endast fyra av de 41 Broadway -teatrarna på Broadway street. För att en teater ska anses vara en Broadway-teater måste den kunna inrymma över 500 åskådare, annars är den känd som "off-Broadway".
