Arrive at the wooden shoe workshop at the Zaanse Schans. You'll be greeted by your host, who will take you to a private workshop space on the first floor. Select from 3 types of wooden shoe souvenirs to paint. Your host will explain to you the basic rules of painting a wooden shoe. During the workshop, you'll get some more insights and information about the history and practical use of wooden shoe painting. Enjoy a drink, Dutch cookies and candies during your time at Zaanse Schans.
A special quick-drying paint is used to paint your own wooden shoe. This means that you can take your wooden shoe home half an hour after the workshop is finished.
